Sam- Generalmente nos describimos a nosotros mismos como una mezcla de géneros. Usualmente pop-punk / hardcore melódico. O simplemente enumeramos un montón de nuestras influencias.
MND-contame sobre el EP "reflections", es su primera grabación? tienen proyectado un nuevo disco pronto?
Sam-"Reflections" fue nuestro EP debut. Recientemente hemos terminado de grabar el EP que le sigue y que saldrá a la luz en Marzo de 2014. Estamos realmente ansiosos porque salga! Las canciones de "reflections" fueron escritas hace al rededor de 3 años atrás y no nos representan tan bien ya como banda.
MND-me gusta mucho la letra de "why is Derek in the floor? (oh my god)" , es algo triste y muy dulce también, como componen los temas? hay alguien que haga las letras?
Sam: Escribimos toda nuestra música nosotros mismos. Buenos los chicos la música, yo me encargo de las letras, con alguna ayuda ocasional de Brent. Trabajamos juntos e intercambiamos ideas entre nosotros para asegurarnos que todo tenga un sentido. Todas nuestras canciones son Historias y tratamos de pintar esa historia lo mejor posible a nuestros oyentes.
MND-vi el video de "april fool", me rei mucho ja ja! es muy divertido, sobre todo cuando el productor les dice "esto es tan horrible!" y escupe el EP! ja ja! , como se les ocurrió la historia del video?
Sam.: Se me ocurrió esa idea muy al azar y todos la adoraron. Habíamos hablado sobre hacer el video por un tiempo y teníamos algunos conceptos de como hacerlo pero ninguno nos terminaba de convencer. Sin embargo, a todos les encanto la idea del video game, lo que nos dio la chance de hacer algo divertido aun con una canción seria.
MND-todos los miembros de la banda son STRAIGHT EDGE? se refleja esto en las letras?
Sam: Hasta ahora no, tal vez en un futuro. Estamos llenos de ideas para canciones que aun no hemos usado, así que veremos.
MND-como banda independiente, como se arreglan con el tema de las fechas? las arman ustedes mismos? se juntan con otras bandas? como manejan eses aspecto?
Sam: Brent (guitarra) se encarga de todos nuestros bookings. Usualmente el se pone en contacto con bandas en nuevos mercados en los que estamos tratando de tocar. Siempre tratamos de establecer una buena relación de trabajo con promotores de diferentes mercados y mantener una buena amistad con otras bandas también. Todo se trata de crear una red de trabajo.
MND-son aun una banda muy joven, pero el publico va creciendo , les hacen entrevistas en paginas de internet y revistas, como se ven en este momento en la escena de Michigan?
Sam: Detroit es un lugar genial para las bandas. Estuvimos en la prensa local como Real Detroit, nuestras canciones sonaron en 89X Radio aqui en Detroid y Peta2 hizo un anuncio de nosotros, así que, tuvimos nuestra pequeña participación en la prensa. Continua creciendo y eso es bueno.
MND-aquí en Argentina en los últimos tiempos han surgido varias bandas con voces femeninas, todas muy buenas bandas como CIRSE, NADIN o N.H.EM , como es eso por alla? hay muchas bandas con chicas al frente en la escena independiente?
Sam: Si! definitivamente! "Hour 24" son algunos de nuestros mejores amigos. Ellos fueron parte de nuestro tour junto con "Nadin". Los amamos. También hay una banda pop-punk llamada "Chances are that" que tiene una cantante mujer, también son muy buenos amigos nuestros. Esta lleno de bandas con mujeres cantantes y por todo el país.
MND-te agradezco mucho tu tiempo para responder esta pequeña entrevista, esperamos escuchar noticias de ustedes pronto, nuevo álbum o video, aquí estaremos esperando para compartirlo con los lectores, algo que quieras decir al publico de Argentina que aun no los conoce?
Sam: Nos gustaría agradecer a toda la gente en Argentina que nos ha apoyado hasta el momento y a los posibles nuevos fans. Espero que todos puedan escuchar nuestra música. Tenemos un nuevo EP que sera lanzado en marzo de 2014 y esperamos que les guste! Y con suerte esperamos verlos en Argentina en un futuro no muy lejano!

MND- Hi Samantha! Thank you so much for your time. Let's talk about music, I don't know yet how to define the style of the music of AIM YOUR ARROWS, It's a mix between easycore, post hardcore and some Pop punk style, an awesome mix for me ! haha what do you answer to the people who ask you guys about this?
SAM-We generally describe ourselves as a mix of genres as well. Usually pop-punk/melodic hardcore. Or we just list a bunch of our influences.
MND- Tell me about the EP "reflections". Is this your first record? Do you have in mind the posibility of a new album soon?
SAM-"Reflections" was our debut EP. We actually just finished recording our follow up EP, and we will be releasing that in March of 2014. We are extremely excited to release new music. The songs on "Reflections" were written almost three years ago, and they don't really represent us that well as a band any longer.
MND- I personally like a lot the lyrics of "why is derek in the floor (oh my god!)" is a little bit sad and sweet at the same time. How do you compone your songs? is there someone who write the songs for you guys?
SAM-We write all of our own music. Well, the guys write the music. I write the lyrics, with some occasional assistance from Brent. We work together and bounce ideas off each other, and make sure everything makes sense. All of our songs are really stories, and we really try to paint a picture for our listeners.
MND- I saw the video of "April Fool" It's really fun, I just laugh a lot with it , ha ha! How did you get the idea for the vid? ,the band had a bad experience with a discographic seal sometime?
SAM-I came up with the idea very randomly and everyone else loved it. We had been talking about doing a video for a while and we had a few concepts but nothing really stuck. Everyone loved the video game idea though, and it gave us a chance to do something fun even with a serious song.
MND- All the members in the band are straight edge? the fact that you are, gets reflects on the lyrics?
SAM-So far it really hasn't. It may in the future. There are plenty of ideas for songs that we haven't used yet. So we'll see.
MND- As an independent band, how do you organize with the dates for your gigs? you make it by your self? or you get in touch with other bands? How do you guys move with this?
SAM-Brent handles all of our booking. He usually reaches out to bands in new markets that we are trying to play. We always try and establish a good working relationship with promoters in different markets and maintain close friendships with other bands as well. It's all about networking.
MND- You guys are a pretty new band but your public keeps growing. Do you make interviews for magazines or to the internet? How do you guys feel about the band in the DETROIT scene?
SAM-Detroit is a great place for bands. We have been featured in local press such as Real Detroit, our songs have been played on 89X Radio here in Detroit, and Peta2 did a spotlight on us. So we've had a small share of press. It keeps growing though, so that's good.
MND- Here in Argentina, in the last few years, emerged a lot of bands with females voices as Cirse, Nadim, nhem .. what about in michigan? is there others bands with a front girl, in the independent scene?
SAM-Yeah definitely! "Hour 24" are some of our very best friends. They were part of our tour with "Nadin". We love them. There is also a pop-punk band called "Chances Are that" has a girl singer, they're some of our best friends as well. There's plenty of girl fronted bands here, and all over the country.
MND- I really appreciate it for your time and we hope to get some news about the band really soon and we will be right here waiting to share it with the people who is reading !! One more before I go, is there something you want to tell to the public in argentina that don't know the band yet?
